Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope all of you have a wonderful, safe holiday.

We have a lot to be thankful for this year. All of us are in better health this year than we were last. My doctor has finally found a solution to chronic pain that's plagued me for four years now, and what a relief it is to feel myself again! Hubby and I have two very beautiful, loving girls. We have a cozy, warm home and are blessed with the employment needed to maintain it.

For the first time, both our parents are out of town during the holiday, so it's a more laid back holiday this year. Instead of finding a way to cram three family gatherings in one day, there's only one going on today. The others will come later in the week as everyone comes home.

Hubby went this morning and picked up our Christmas gift to each other: a griddle. Never being ones to be too picky about the date on a calendar, we went ahead and put it to use this morning. Working together, we concocted a homemade version of McGriddles. They turned out so much better than their fast food counterparts. Honestly, this may turn out to be a new holiday tradition, though not on one where the entire festivities seem to revolve around eating. These were good, but we're not planning to have more than a bowl of popcorn between now and supper tonight.

Breakfast was over just in time for the start of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. One tradition that crossed over from my childhood to our household immediately was watching the parade. Hubby and I are curling up with the girls. Or more accurately, Hubby and I are curling up with cups of coffee, while the girls snuggle under Boo Bear's Cinderella blanket to watch the parade.
