52 Week Challenge: Week 1 Update

Justify FullSo, I'm one week into my challenge redo. The goal change up is working well. Paring back how much I strive to do at once has made keeping to it much easier. The girls are back on a routine, and they're thriving on it.

Even considering the fact they've both had eye infections this past week, both girls are in overall better moods. Their behavior has improved, and all of us are letting out a sign of relief. Best of all, keeping to new bed and wake times has Sneak sleeping more soundly through the night, so Hubby and I are finally getting eight hours of sleep at night again!

That's worth doing the challenge in and of itself!

There were a couple of days last week when I wasn't able to keep up with my exercise routine due to breathing issues, but I did keep my appointment for 2/3 of the week. If nothing else, I am regaining stamina needed to keep up with the girls. However, I did manage to loose a pound and a half.

I know from personal experience it's not best for me to weigh in all that often. My weight has bobbed up and down by up to three pounds every other week for the past few years, and it's easy to become discouraged. Therefore, I won't be weighing in again until the last Monday in April.

I'm starting to feel the urge to lop off half my hair, as I am wont to do this time of year, but I'd also like to give something back. I'd love to donate some of this head full of hair to Locks of Love, but it's still too short for donation purposes at this time since you need at least ten inches cut. So, I'm thinking of waiting until I can give myself a post weight loss makeover as a reward.

This is, of course, assuming I manage to get the weight off, and giving past issues, that is a rather large assumption. So, here's the deal, and I want you to hold me to it readers, please. If I manage to loose a total of at least five pounds by the end of April and continue to loose by the end of May, I'll hold out until I've lost a total of fifty pounds before getting the hair cut. By the time I've lost it all, I should have more than enough hair to donate.

Finally, the little gestures I've shown to Hubby are actually working! Who knew just a touch of something here and there could make a difference so quickly?

We're not newlyweds again. Who can be with two children under three in the house? But we're rediscovering some of the joy in our marriage behind the drudgery of every day life, and that's a lot.

So, now you've heard from me. Why not join the challenge yourself and see how big a change for the better you can bring to your own life? Add your voice to the comments, and let us know what you're doing?

  2. Nikki, thank you. We're glad of it too!

I have enjoyed your posts as well, and I've tried to comment. However, there still seems to be an issue with the comment feature. It never finishes processing the security word, so I am unable to enter anything.
